There are lots of ways parents can get involved and support your son's/daughter's scouting. Below are just a selection of the ways you can currently get involved!

Tea Towel Washing!

We constantly have piles of dirty Tea Towels in the Scout HQ needing washing - simply collect them at the end of a meeting and wash & return. Many thanks to those of you who support with this already!

Cycle Repairing / Servicing

Our 10 bikes are currently in an "as left" condition after Summer Camp - they next go out in Mid November and before then could do with being serviced (& in at least one case more seriously repaired). If you've time to take the odd one home and sort for us please ask at the end of a weekly meeting - all costs for parts covered.

Group Executive Committee

This is the management committee of the Scout group meeting 4 times a year - we currently have vacancies for parents of Scouts of most age groups. If you can spare 4 nights a year to help run the Group please let us know,

Group Treasurer

Mervyn Wolffsohn our Treasurer has been in post for more than 20 years - we're looking for a volunteer to shadow him for a period before taking on the role so he can retire! Not hugely time consuming, but some accounting experience would be helpful!

Group Subscriptions Secretary

We need a new subscriptions secretary to co-ordinate collection of the annual subscriptions from parents in November / December.

Minibus Drivers

We frequently need additional drivers to support our activities. You only need a normal car license and some driving experience to support us here.

Leaders / Sectional Assistants

For anyone prepared to give up more of their time, we're always on the look out for additional uniformed leaders to support both weekly meetings & camps. We're not generally keen on parents supporting the section their child is in at that point in time (& certainly the Scout must agree to any involvement!) simply as we find Scouts develop much better if given the freedom to be themselves without Mum / Dad watching their every move!

Explorer Scout Leader

We have a specific need at present for a Leader to take on the organisation and co-ordination of our Explorer Scout unit for 60+ 14-18 year old boys & girls meeting on Tuesday evenings.

If you're able to assist with any of the above please contact us at [email protected] or come and talk to us at the end of a weekly meeting.
